Voting on Election Day! Everything You Need to Know!

The Primary Election is coming up on Tuesday, August 6th. Polls are open from 7 AM until 8 PM.

Below, I've included some helpful information on how to find your precinct and what you need when you show up to vote! I take voting as one of our most important civic duties, and I appreciate that Shelby Township always experiences such a high turnout. Your active involvement in our community, from attending township events, helping our friends and neighbors, and making our voices heard at the ballot box, makes Shelby Township the best place to Live, Work, and Play in Macomb County! I appreciate your continued support, and with your vote, I can continue to work on your behalf on the Shelby Township Board of Trustees! Thank you!

WHERE TO VOTE

If you are registered and planning to vote in person on election day, you can locate your precinct here. Shelby Township has 32 precincts, each with a designated polling place. Newly registered voters and individuals who have moved into the township receive a voter ID card containing polling location and district details. This information is also accessible on the Michigan Voter Information Center website provided above.

PHOTO ID

Presentation of your voter ID card is not mandatory for voting; a photo ID is sufficient. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver’s license, state ID, school ID or tribal ID. Voters who do not have their ID at the polls can sign an affidavit.

In order to vote, you must have resided at your registered address for the 30 days leading up to an election. If you move during this period, you may still be able to vote once more at your previous polling location. We can assist you in determining where you should vote.

MORE INFORMATION

Polls are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. All polling locations are accessible to individuals with disabilities and are equipped with voter assist terminals. These terminals are available to all voters and offer ballot language through audio output, large print, or high contrast displays. Voters can make selections via touch screen, keypad, or sip-puff technology. The terminal prints out the voter’s selections on a ballot to be inserted into the precinct tabulator by the voter.

Remember for more information on voting check out the Macomb County Elections website or contact the Macomb County Clerk's office at (586) 469-5120.
